Private Pilot Pass Guarantee
Effective September 27, 2026
1 What it covers
The Private Pilot Pass ($69) and the Private Pilot Pass + Checkride Oral Pass ($119), for the FAA Private Pilot Airplane (PAR) knowledge test. It covers the written test only: the checkride (oral and flight) is not covered.
2 The conditions
Both of these, before your FAA test:
- Finish every lesson of the Private Pilot course (39 lessons across 13 modules), marked complete in your account.
- Score 85% or higher on 3 full PAR simulations, each a separate attempt at the 60-question scored exam simulation, all taken within the 30 days before your FAA test (the test day itself counts).
Why these: the real pass mark is 70%. Three full simulations at 85%+ in the month before the test is the margin we'd tell you to have anyway.
3 What counts as a full simulation
- The PAR simulation (60 scored + 5 unscored questions, 120 minutes), started and submitted before the clock runs out. The score is the one recorded on our server for that attempt.
- Three different attempts. Same day or different days, any device.
- Quizzes, topic drills, the free diagnostic and unfinished simulations are great practice but do not count.
4 What we pay
If you meet the conditions and fail the PAR on your first attempt, we refund 100% of what you paid for the Pass plus $175 toward your retest fee. One claim per purchase.
5 How to claim
- Within 30 days of your test, email hello@rotatepilot.com from the address you bought with (or tell us which one it was).
- Attach your Airman Knowledge Test Report (AKTR). You can cover your address and certificate number.
- We check the test date against your lesson completions and simulations. No screenshots needed: dates and scores are recorded on our server.
- If the conditions are met, the refund and the $175 go back to your original payment method, usually within 5 business days of your email.
6 Separately: 30-day refund, no questions asked
Changed your mind? Within 30 days of purchase, if you haven't finished the course, email hello@rotatepilot.com and we refund you in full. No reason needed.
7 Good to know
- The Private Pilot Pass is test preparation. It does not give you the instructor endorsement you need to take the PAR (14 CFR 61.35 and 61.103(d)): that comes from your flight or ground instructor.
- Rotate Pilot is not affiliated with the FAA or PSI. Always confirm against the current regulations and the FAA's own materials.
- Questions before your test? Email hello@rotatepilot.com. It goes straight to Renzo, the founder.
