Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly: email address, name, aviation authority preference, license level, and study goals. We also collect usage data such as quiz scores, study time, and progress through courses.

2. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used to personalize your learning experience, track your progress, provide quiz recommendations via spaced repetition, and process subscription payments. We never sell your personal data to third parties.

3. Data Storage

Your data is stored securely on Supabase (PostgreSQL) with row-level security enabled. Payment information is processed by Stripe and never stored on our servers.

4. Cookies, Analytics and Advertising

We use essential cookies for sign-in and session management. We also use the following:

• Our own analytics (pages viewed, quiz progress and clicks, stored in our database) and Vercel Analytics for aggregate usage statistics.
• Microsoft Clarity, which records how pages are used (clicks, scrolling, page recordings) so we can find and fix problems.
• Advertising measurement tags: the Google Ads tag, and the Microsoft Advertising tag when it is active. They load on every page and tell us whether our own ads led to a visit or a purchase. They set cookies and can add your browser to our advertising audiences on Google and Microsoft.
• Google AdSense ads, only on some public information pages (for example airline, salary, news, blog, glossary, airport and weather pages). Google and its partners may use cookies to show and measure those ads, including personalised ads where the law allows. AdSense never loads in the study platform (dashboard, practice, mock exams, tutor), on our exam and practice-test pages, or on checkout pages.

How to switch advertising off. You can turn off personalised Google ads at myadcenter.google.com and opt out of many ad networks at optout.aboutads.info. Blocking third-party cookies in your browser stops the advertising tags and AdSense cookies on this site. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Google only serves personalised ads after consent collected through a certified consent message; if you are shown one, you can change your choice by reopening it, and if you decline or are not asked, Google serves only non-personalised or limited ads.

We do not sell your personal data and we do not share your study records (answers, scores, tutor questions) with advertisers.

5. Third-Party Services

We use these services to run Rotate Pilot: Supabase (database and authentication), Stripe (payments), Vercel (hosting and analytics), Anthropic (answers from the AI tutor; your tutor questions are sent to it to generate the answer), OpenAI (speech for voice practice features), Resend and Brevo (email), Microsoft Clarity (usability recordings), and Google and Microsoft (advertising measurement and, on the pages listed above, AdSense ads). Each service has its own privacy policy.

6. Students in School Programs

Schools, colleges and training programs can give a class access to Rotate Pilot. In that case:

• The school decides who joins. The teacher or school receives a join link and gives it to its own students. Each student signs in with an email address (a school-issued one is fine). The school can remove a student from its class at any time.
• Minimal data. For a student account we keep an email address, an optional name, the study settings the student chooses (exam and target date) and the student's study activity: answers, scores, mock exams and questions asked to the AI tutor. We do not ask students for a phone number, a home address or a date of birth.
• Who sees it. The student's teacher sees that student's progress in the class dashboard. No other school, and no other student, can see it.
• No sale, no ads in the study platform. We do not sell student data or use study records for advertising, and there are no ads in the study platform. Please note that the site-wide measurement tags described in section 4 also load on study pages.
• Children under 13. Rotate Pilot is not directed to children under 13, and a child under 13 should only use it through a school program, where the school is responsible for any consent needed under COPPA for educational use. If we learn that we hold personal information from a child under 13 without that, we delete it.
• Education records (FERPA). When a US school uses Rotate Pilot with its students, we use the student information it involves only to provide the service to that school, and we don't disclose it to anyone other than the service providers listed in section 5 that run the product.
• Access and deletion. A school, a parent (through the school) or a student can ask us to export or delete a student's records by writing to hello@rotatepilot.com. A school that needs its own data privacy agreement can send it to the same address for review.

7. Your Rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us. You can delete your account through your profile settings.

8. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days. Anonymous usage analytics may be retained indefinitely.

9. AI Assistant Connector (MCP)

Rotate Pilot offers a free, read-only connector for AI assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT at https://rotatepilot.com/api/mcp. It has no sign-in and does not access any Rotate Pilot account. When an assistant calls one of its tools we receive only the arguments of that call (for example the exam, a question id and the chosen letter, an airport code, or a US ZIP code or coordinates) and use them to build the answer. We do not receive your conversation, and we do not store the arguments, ZIP codes or coordinates. For usage statistics we record the tool name, the exam, the assistant (for example Claude or ChatGPT), whether the call succeeded, the protocol version and a truncated one-way hash of the calling IP address. METAR/TAF requests are sent to NOAA's Aviation Weather Center and airspace requests to FAA and USGS public services.
