Online Tests & Psychometrics

Delta uses an Aon (formerly cut-e) battery online, plus the MMPI-2 onsite.

  • The online battery is delivered by Aon / cut-e (sometimes referenced as 'MAPTQ').candidate-reported
  • Reported cut-e modules: Complex Control, Multitasking (standard and 'sonic'/audio variant), Reaction Speed, Spatial Orientation, Monitoring Ability, and Sense of Direction.candidate-reported
  • Reasoning components reported: Logical Thinking (inductive/deductive), Applied Numeracy, and verbal/numerical reasoning from graphs and charts.candidate-reported
  • An auditory comprehension / ATC clearance section: transcribe items such as QNH, runway, wind, altitudes and ATC instructions from worldwide clearances.candidate-reported
  • A five-factor (Big Five) personality questionnaire: openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, neuroticism.candidate-reported
  • Onsite MMPI-2: approximately 567-570 true/false items; candidates advise answering honestly, as inconsistent answering can trigger a retake.candidate-reported

The Panel Interview & Day Profile

A single onsite panel at Atlanta HQ. Notably, recent candidates report NO simulator evaluation in Delta's current Direct Entry process.

  • Day reportedly starts around 6:45 AM with paperwork; groups split between the panel interview and the MMPI, then swap.candidate-reported
  • Panel is roughly one hour with two Delta pilots and one HR representative.candidate-reported
  • Format reported as: self-introduction (including 'why Delta'), two TMAAT (Tell Me About A Time) questions, and three WWYD (What Would You Do) scenarios.candidate-reported
  • Candidates report no technical/systems questions in the panel; focus is behavioral, CRM, decision-making and leadership.candidate-reported
  • Questions are tailored to your resume; interviewers are aware of common gouge and screen for genuine, personal answers over rehearsed ones.candidate-reported
  • No simulator assessment is reported in current Direct Entry interviews (unlike some other legacy carriers).candidate-reported
  • Have your logbooks organized exactly per the prep email and bring all original documents; treat the entire day as the interview.candidate-reported
