  1. Question 1 · Remote Pilot (Part 107)

(Refer to FAA-CT-8080-2H, Figure 21.) What airport is located approximately 47 (degrees) 40 (minutes) N latitude and 101 (degrees) 26 (minutes) W longitude?

    • A.Mercer County Regional Airport.
    • B.Semshenko Airport.
    • C.Garrison Airport.
    Show answer and explanation

    Correct: C. Garrison Airport.

In Figure 21 the 48 degree N parallel runs across the upper part of the chart and the 101 degree W meridian is marked near the center. 47 degrees 40 minutes N is 20 minutes (about 20 NM) south of the 48 degree line, and 101 degrees 26 minutes W is 26 minutes west of the 101 degree meridian (about 17 NM at this latitude); that point falls on Garrison airport (D05), next to the town of Garrison. Semchenko lies farther north and east, and Mercer County Regional (HZE) is far to the south near Hazen.
