What effect does high density altitude have on the efficiency of a UA propeller?

A

Propeller efficiency is increased.

B

Propeller efficiency is decreased.✓ Correct Answer

C

Density altitude does not affect propeller efficiency.

Explanation

High density altitude means thinner air. As PHAK Ch. 11 explains, a propeller produces thrust by acting on a mass of air, so in less dense air it has less air to bite and its efficiency decreases, along with engine/motor output and lift. Density altitude therefore does affect propeller efficiency, and high density altitude never increases it.
