Under what condition should the operator of a small UA establish scheduled maintenance protocol?

A

When the manufacturer does not provide a maintenance schedule.✓ Correct Answer

B

UAS does not need a required maintenance schedule.

C

When the FAA requires you to, following an accident.

Explanation

AC 107-2A para. 7.2.1.1 states that if the small UAS manufacturer or component manufacturer does not provide scheduled maintenance instructions, the operator should establish a scheduled maintenance protocol, documenting repairs and replacements and time in service until a reliable schedule emerges. Maintenance is expected whether or not the FAA asks after an accident, so saying no schedule is needed is wrong.
