In the Northern Hemisphere, a magnetic compass will normally indicate initially a turn toward the west if
A
a left turn is entered from a north heading.
B
a right turn is entered from a north heading.✓ Correct Answer
C
an aircraft is accelerated while on a north heading.
Explanation
Because of magnetic dip, in the Northern Hemisphere a turn from a north heading initially shows on the compass as a turn in the opposite direction. So a right turn (toward the east) from north first indicates a turn toward the west, while a left turn from north first shows east. Accelerating on a north heading produces no acceleration error.
