Definition

An electronic display showing navigation, weather, engine, traffic, and terrain information. The MFD can be configured by the pilot to show the most relevant data for the current flight phase.

Why Multi-Function Display Matters for Pilots

Instrument knowledge is tested on every pilot certificate exam. Understanding how Multi-Function Display works helps you interpret cockpit information correctly and recognize instrument failures before they become emergencies. This knowledge is especially critical for instrument-rated pilots flying in reduced visibility.
