Full Review
The Sentry Plus is the most capable portable ADS-B-in receiver ever made. ForeFlight (now part of Boeing) refined the original Sentry into a one-box solution that gives you dual-band ADS-B (catches 978 UAT and 1090 ES traffic), built-in AHRS for backup attitude on your iPad, a CO detector tied to alerts, and a pressure altimeter that makes traffic altitudes far more accurate.
Battery life is genuinely impressive — 12+ hours of continuous operation on the internal cell, so you don't need cigarette-lighter wiring or panel mounting. The dual-band Wi-Fi handles a captain's and copilot's iPad simultaneously without dropouts.
The downside is price (around $850) and ForeFlight ecosystem lock-in. The Sentry Plus works with FlyQ and iFly GPS but is unambiguously designed for ForeFlight users. If you're a ForeFlight subscriber who wants the absolute best portable ADS-B experience, this is the one.
Our Verdict
The most complete portable ADS-B-in receiver you can buy. Dual-band ADS-B, AHRS, CO detector, pressure altimeter, and 12+ hour battery in one box.
