Pick the ASA book if...

  • You want a printed book you can mark up and carry to the airport.
  • You want the lowest price: $14.95 is less than $24.
  • You want the guide your instructor probably already knows, now in its 15th edition.

Pick Rotate's PDF if...

  • Your checkride is days away and you want to start tonight, not wait for shipping.
  • You want every answer tied to its regulation or handbook reference, so you can say where it comes from. Examiners push on that.
  • You want 10 DPE scenario drills, a 48-hour countdown plan and a mock oral script on top of the questions.
  • You want to judge it first: read 10 questions free, no account.

How we would use them

An oral exam is a conversation built on the ACS: the examiner starts from a task, asks why, and keeps going until you reach the edge of what you know. A list of questions on its own does not prepare you for the follow-up. Whichever guide you pick, read the answer, then say it out loud with the reference (14 CFR, AIM, PHAK) to someone who keeps asking "why?". The two guides overlap a lot. Neither replaces your instructor's mock oral, and neither is endorsed by the FAA.
