Part 135

Definition

FAR Part 135 covers commuter and on-demand air carrier operations. It has stricter rules than Part 91 but less stringent than Part 121, commonly used for charter flights and air taxi services.

Why Part 135 Matters for Pilots

Regulatory knowledge is heavily tested on FAA and EASA written exams. Understanding Part 135 helps you stay compliant with aviation rules and avoid certificate actions. Examiners frequently ask about regulations during oral checkrides, so knowing Part 135 inside and out is essential.

Exam Tip

This concept is commonly tested in regulations-related questions on FAA and EASA exams. Make sure you can explain Part 135 in your own words for the oral exam. Practice applying this concept to real-world scenarios, not just memorizing the definition.
