Full Review
The Bose A30 is the headset every other manufacturer is now chasing. It replaced the legendary A20 in 2023 with three meaningful upgrades: 20% less clamp pressure, three selectable ANR modes, and tap-to-talk-through (so you don't have to lift a cup to hear the FBO desk).
Noise reduction is still the gold standard. In a Cessna 172 at cruise, the cabin essentially disappears — you hear ATC and your passengers, nothing else. The new lower clamp pressure makes 6-hour cross countries genuinely comfortable, where the A20 would leave hot spots above the ears.
Bluetooth is multi-point now, so you can connect both your phone and a Garmin/iPad simultaneously. Battery life on two AAs is 45+ hours of actual flying. The 5-year warranty is the longest in the industry and Bose's customer service is famously excellent. If you fly enough to justify the price, the A30 is the right answer — full stop.
Our Verdict
The new gold standard. Bose took everything pilots loved about the A20 and made it lighter, quieter, and more comfortable. If money is no object, buy this.
