No pilot of a civil aircraft may allow a parachute that is available for emergency use to be carried in that aircraft unless it is an approved type and has been packed by a certificated person within the preceding 180 days. Unless each occupant is wearing an approved parachute, no person may operate a civil aircraft in any intentional maneuver that exceeds 60 degrees of bank or 30 degrees of pitch.

Plain-English Explanation
If you are going to do any maneuver exceeding 60 degrees bank or 30 degrees nose up/down, everyone on board needs a parachute (except for spins and other maneuvers given by a flight instructor as required training). Parachutes must be repacked every 180 days by a certified parachute rigger. Note that steep turns (45 degrees bank) and lazy eights do not exceed these limits, so no parachute is needed for those training maneuvers.
