In Subchapters A through K of this chapter: AGL — Above Ground Level. ALS — Approach light system. ASR — Airport surveillance radar. ATC — Air traffic control. CAS — Calibrated airspeed. DME — Distance measuring equipment. EAS — Equivalent airspeed. FAA — Federal Aviation Administration. GS — Glide slope. HIRL — High-intensity runway lights. IAS — Indicated airspeed. IFR — Instrument flight rules. ILS — Instrument landing system. IM — Inner marker. INT — Intersection. LDA — Localizer-type directional aid. LMM — Locator middle marker. LOC — Localizer. LOM — Locator outer marker. MAA — Maximum authorized altitude. MALS — Medium intensity approach light system. MCA — Minimum crossing altitude.
