Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Rotate E6B Flight Computer app for iPhone and iPad. Last updated September 21, 2026.

The short version

The app has no account and no sign-in. Every calculation runs on your device. The headings, weights, temperatures and fuel figures you type are never transmitted and never stored anywhere but on your own iPhone or iPad.

What stays on your device

  • Everything you enter. Wind, course, true airspeed, weights and arms, altimeter settings, temperatures — all of it is used to compute a result and stored locally so you can come back to it.
  • Your history, favourites, aircraft profiles and settings. Held in a database inside the app's own storage. They are included in your device backup if you back your device up, and they are deleted with the app.

What the app sends out

Two things, and nothing else:

  • Anonymous usage events. So we know which calculators are worth improving, the app records events such as “a wind triangle was calculated” or “the paywall was shown”, together with a random identifier generated on your device, the app version and the build number. These events record which calculator was used — never the numbers you entered, and never anything that identifies you. The random identifier is not your Apple ID, your device ID, or your advertising identifier, and it is regenerated if you delete and reinstall the app. Our analytics provider is PostHog.
  • Your purchase, if you make one. Unlocking the paid calculators is a one-time in-app purchase handled by Apple. Apple tells us that a purchase happened, through RevenueCat, so the app can grant access and restore it on your other devices. We never see your card, your billing address or your Apple ID.

What we never do

  • We do not ask for an email address or a password.
  • We do not track you across other apps or websites.
  • We do not show ads, and we do not sell or share data with data brokers.
  • We do not request your location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera.

Deleting your data

Deleting the app removes everything it stored on your device. Because the usage events are anonymous, we cannot look up “your” events to delete them — there is no identifier connecting them to you. If you want us to stop receiving events from your installation, write to us and we will tell you how to turn them off.

Children

The app is built for pilots and student pilots and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from them.
