Common questions
I paid, and the paid calculators are still locked
Open the app, go to Settings and tap Restore Purchases. The unlock is tied to your Apple ID, not to the device, so it comes back on any iPhone or iPad signed in to the same account — including after you reinstall or change phone. If it still does not unlock, email us the date of the purchase and we will sort it out.
A result does not match my mechanical E6B
It usually should not match exactly. A plastic E6B is read off a dial, so it is accurate to roughly the width of the pencil mark; the app uses the trigonometric formulas directly. Open “How this was calculated” under any result: it shows the formula and each step with your own numbers, so you can see exactly where the two part ways. If you believe the app is genuinely wrong, send us the inputs and the answer you expected — that is the most useful message you can write us.
Can I use it on the FAA written exam?
The FAA allows electronic flight computers in the testing centre, subject to the centre inspecting the device and your compliance with their rules on electronic devices. Confirm with your testing centre before the day: policies differ and they are the ones who decide.
My aircraft is not in the weight and balance profiles
You can enter your own arms, moments and envelope limits from your POH and save them as a profile. If there is a common training aircraft you would like included out of the box, tell us which one and we will look at adding it.
Does it work without a signal?
Yes. Every calculation runs on the device. The app needs the network only to complete a purchase and to restore one.
Is it a subscription?
No. The paid calculators unlock with a single one-time purchase. There is nothing to cancel and nothing that renews.
How do I ask for a refund?
Refunds for in-app purchases are handled by Apple, not by us: go to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple ID. If something about the app itself went wrong, write to us first — we would rather fix it.
